Today, for the first time since Sunday, I was able to see a bit of white clouds and blue sky at home. The ashiness in the air wasn’t so terrible. Life didn’t seem as disastrous. But I haven’t watched the news in a few days, so that could explain things.
I’m done with the fire for right now. Here are other San Diegans blogging about the fire:
Joe Crawford
Brian Cavner
Emese Gaal
Leah Peah

San Diego Blog (extensive list)
Union-Tribune Fire Blog
Since San Diego County is closed all week, I’m sure I can enjoy some time off, right?

It’s weird experiencing the scary equivalent of “snow days” here. On the news the other night, Marty Levin said, “In the East, we have snow days, and in the West, we have fire and ash days.” My mother pointed out one difference: snow days back east are fun days in winter snowscapes.
